Bangalore – Under Construction
Total Built up area – 2400 Square feet
Being a nominal site of 30 Feet x 40 Feet and the desire for a very spacious home influenced the design to be realized on multiple levels. With the guest room on the lower ground, the public areas were housed on the upper ground, and the private on the 1st and 2nd-floor levels. Rooms voluminously were made bigger than they were by orienting them to the outdoor terraces and by dissolving the layer of security grills between the rooms and the terraces. The layer of security was strategically given a different dimension by fusing in an aesthetically designed sunscreen which also prevented radiation from the western side. The structure though is ground plus four floors adding up to 2400 square feet has a strong collaboration of enclosed and semi-enclosed spaces within the framed rectangular structure.
